Bannière Entombed

Death Metal

Entombed is a legendary Swedish death metal band formed in Stockholm in 1987, originally under the name Nihilist, by Alex Hellid, Nicke Andersson, and Uffe Cederlund. Their debut album, Left Hand Path (1990), defined the Swedish sound with its iconic “buzzsaw” guitar tone — a distorted, grinding wall of sound that became synonymous with the country’s death metal scene.

In 1993, Entombed reinvented themselves with Wolverine Blues, blending the heaviness of death metal with the swagger of rock’n’roll, pioneering the now-famous death’n’roll style. Albums like Clandestine (1991), Morning Star (2001), and Serpent Saints (2007) further proved their ability to evolve while remaining authentic to their roots.

Despite numerous lineup changes, Entombed remains a cornerstone of Scandinavian metal, forever linked to the unmistakable voice of L-G Petrov — whose passing in 2021 left a lasting mark on fans and musicians worldwide.
