Formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, California, Linkin Park became one of the defining bands of the nu metal movement at the turn of the 2000s, blending alternative rock, metal, and hip-hop with explosive energy. Their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000), featuring hits like “In the End” and “Crawling,” became a global phenomenon. They followed with Meteora (2003), solidifying their status as genre leaders.
Comprising Mike Shinoda (rap/vocals), Brad Delson (guitar), Rob Bourdon (drums), Joe Hahn (turntables), and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell (bass), Linkin Park was long defined by the powerful and emotional voice of Chester Bennington, until his tragic passing in 2017. After a period of mourning and silence, the band returned to the spotlight in 2024 with new vocalist Emily Armstrong, marking a bold new chapter while staying true to their emotional and socially aware identity.
With a rich discography – from Minutes to Midnight (2007) to Living Things (2012) and One More Light (2017) – Linkin Park evolved without losing touch with their roots. Their influence on alternative music and their loyal global fanbase remain as strong as ever, more than two decades after their debut.
