Formed in the late 1990s in Teignmouth, England, Muse quickly became one of the most influential British bands of its generation. Driven by Matthew Bellamy’s distinctive voice and virtuosic musicianship, alongside Dominic Howard on drums and Chris Wolstenholme on bass, the trio crafted a hybrid sound blending alternative rock, classical influences, electronic textures, and a touch of futuristic glam.
The band broke through with their second album Origin of Symmetry (2001), featuring hits like “Plug In Baby” and “New Born,” and solidified their fame with Absolution (2003) and the anthemic “Time Is Running Out.” The symphonic and dystopian shift of Black Holes and Revelations (2006), led by the stadium-filling “Knights of Cydonia,” propelled them onto the world’s biggest stages.
Ambitious in sound and spectacular live, Muse has constantly pushed the limits of modern rock. Their universe — mixing technological paranoia, social rebellion, and dark romanticism — continues to captivate both riff lovers and dreamers alike.
