Heavy Metal

John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne (December 3, 1948 – July 22, 2025) was an English singer and songwriter, and one of the most iconic figures in heavy metal history. Rising to fame as the frontman of Black Sabbath, he helped define the sound of the genre with landmark albums such as Paranoid and Master of Reality.

After leaving the band, Ozzy launched a spectacular solo career in 1980 with Blizzard of Ozz, alongside guitar prodigy Randy Rhoads. Rhoads’ dazzling technique brought new life to metal on albums like Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman. Following Rhoads’ tragic death in 1982, Ozzy pressed on, delivering classics such as Bark at the Moon and No More Tears, proving his enduring power and creativity.

Nicknamed the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne captivated the world with his theatrical stage presence, eccentric charisma, and unrelenting passion for music. His influence spans generations and remains one of the cornerstones of metal culture.
