Bannière Pantera

Thrash Metal

Formed in 1981 in Texas, Pantera left an indelible mark on metal history with their aggressive and uncompromising sound. After an early glam metal phase, the band took a radical turn with the arrival of vocalist Phil Anselmo, whose raw energy and fierce voice redefined their identity. With Cowboys from Hell (1990), Pantera truly broke through, establishing the foundations of groove metal.

Their next releases, Vulgar Display of Power (1992) and Far Beyond Driven (1994), reached legendary status — the latter even topping the Billboard charts. Driven by Dimebag Darrell’s crushing riffs and Vinnie Paul’s unstoppable drumming, Pantera became a defining force of 1990s metal, standing proud against the grunge wave.

Though the band disbanded in 2003 and tragedy struck with Dimebag’s death in 2004, Pantera’s legacy remains stronger than ever. Their 2022 reunion tour with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante reignited the flame for fans worldwide, honoring a monumental chapter in metal history.
