Bannière Saxon

Heavy Metal

Formed in the late 1970s, Saxon quickly became one of the pillars of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, alongside Iron Maiden and Motörhead. Their album Wheels of Steel (1980) catapulted them to fame with razor-sharp riffs, raw energy, and powerful imagery.

Driven by Biff Byford’s gritty voice and a sound mixing hard rock with speed influences, Saxon toured relentlessly across Europe, building one of the most loyal fanbases in metal history. The 1980s were a golden era, marked by classics like Strong Arm of the Law, Denim and Leather, and Crusader.

Still active after more than four decades, the British veterans continue to uphold a proud, unrelenting form of traditional heavy metal both on stage and in the studio.
