Bannière Tankard

Thrash Metal

Formed in 1982 in Frankfurt, Tankard stands as one of the legendary pillars of German thrash metal, alongside Kreator, Destruction and Sodom. From the start, the band forged a distinct identity built on aggressive riffs, irreverent humor and an unshakable devotion to beer, partying and brotherhood — earning them the well-deserved nickname “Kings of Beer.”

Fronted by the unmistakable voice of Andreas “Gerre” Geremia, Tankard delivered cult albums such as Chemical Invasion (1987), The Morning After (1988) and One Foot in the Grave (2017). Over forty years into their career, the band remains true to its roots, mixing satire, self-mockery and high-octane thrash energy with the same infectious enthusiasm on stage and in the studio.

On MusikMachine, fans can find several official items celebrating the band’s wild spirit: a collector badge pack featuring classic artwork and two embroidered patches, including the iconic “Space Beer”. Essential pieces for any old-school thrash devotee, perfectly aligned with other German thrash titans like Kreator, Destruction and Sodom.
